An investigation has been launched after 40 cannabis plants were found inside a house in Nelson.
Fire and rescue service personnel were called to the property in Smith Street, on Monday, after receiving reports that the house had flooded.
On arrival, they discovered a substantial-sized cannabis farm, and the police were subsequently asked to attend.
A spokesperson for the police said: "Yesterday Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service made us aware they had attended a report of a flooded property on Smith Street, Nelson, and had discovered a cannabis farm inside the property.
"Officers from the local policing team and immediate response team have dismantled the farm and removed the 40 plants growing inside.
"These will now be destroyed.
"An investigation is ongoing into the cannabis cultivation."
