IT is three weeks since the last person died in East Lancashire's Hospital's Trust from coronavirus according to latest figures.

The Office of National Statistics show that the last COVID-19 related death in the Trust was on August 23 and there have been a total of 212.

More than 2070 people have tested positive for the virus and the current rate is 1,382.8 per 100,000 people in the population.

Elsewhere, in Pendle the there have been 1,005 people diagnosed while the rate is 1,091.1 per 100,000.

Burnley has had 744 cases (836.7 per 100,000), Hyndburn 589 (726.8), Rossendale 420 (587.6) and Ribble Valley 247 (405.7).

Meanwhile, Lancashire Teaching Hospitals Trust had one death on September 9 taking their total past the 250 mark to 251.

Across Lancashire, Preston has the second highest rate with 1,148.6 per 100,000 as they have had 1,644 positive tests.

Blackpool has had 1,148 cases (823.3) while Chorley 781 cases confirmed (660.7).
