A WARNING has been issued for snow and ice for Thursday and Friday.

The Met Office issued the warning after predicting temperatures to drop to potential lows of -4°C with widespread frost expected.

East Lancashire is likely to see snow fall on Thursday night with heavy snow predicted to come around 5am on Friday.

In response meteorologists have issued a yellow alert meaning that some transport services are likely to be effected while people must take care to avoid slips and falls on icy surfaces.

Anyone travelling on the roads is advised to take care.
