RESIDENTS have been warned to be vigilant after a burglary and series of attempted car thefts.
The burglary occurred on Mardale Road, Longridge in the early hours of the morning of Wednesday January 13.
Meanwhile police have also reported a series of incident in which people have tried the doors of cars parked in the Alston ward of Longridge over the last few days.
A police spokesperson said: "The offenders targeting the vehicles appear to be opportunists, they are not breaking and entering it seems, but rather going from vehicle to vehicle to see if they’re unlocked.
"There are steps that you can take to make your homes and property more secure.
"Please ensure that you are doing the obvious stuff in securing your cars and home, storing your car in a garage if possible."
Officers are now appealing for anyone with information about the burglary to call them on 101 quoting log reference LC-20210113-0099.
People who see anything suspicious with regard to suspected car thefts are also encouraged to contact police on 101.
