FIREFIGHTERS have been tackling a domestic building fire in Blackburn this evening with a probe now launched into its cause.
Eight fire engines and an aerial ladder platform were sent to Worcester Road at around 5.30pm to battle the flames, which has affected "multiple domestic properties".
No-one is reported to have been injured.

A Lancashire Fire and Rescue spokesman said: "At 17:30 on 25th April, eight fire engines from Blackburn, Hyndburn, Darwen, Bamber Bridge, Nelson, Leyland, including a stinger appliance, an aerial ladder platform from Hyndburn, and a command unit from Fulwood, attended a domestic building fire on Worcester Road, Blackburn.
"The fire affected multiple domestic properties.
"Firefighters used two hose reels, two breathing apparatus, the stinger and the aerial ladder platform to combat the fire.
"No injuries have been reported."
The smoke could be seen from Pleasington Playing Fields across town.
At 6.15pm, the fire service said eight pumps were on the scene tackling the flames but just under an hour later, at 7.10pm, the fire was under control.
Road closures have been in place with motorists advised to avoid the area.
"The smoke has now dissipated, so nearby residents can open windows and doors again as normal", the fire service said.
At 7.55pm, it was announced that an investigation into the cause of the fire is underway.
Crews are expected to stay at the scene overnight.
