Sometimes the ways of politicians seem completely baffling to a simple human being.
The Gazette of May 21 reported that only two of Cumbria’s MPs supported our farmers by voting to exclude lower quality foods from our imports.
Why would the others want us to import food of lower standard than we produce in the UK ?
Our local MP, Tim Farron showed common sense as he usually does and he is a good supporter of local agriculture.
Once upon a time the Conservative party were seen as the party for those in the countryside but now this has been forgotten, and they are the party for commerce and trade even when this means lowering our food standards.
