Reader's letter
Am I alone in failing to understand why the Gazette front page headline (June 4) 'Respect Us' is full of condemnation and contempt of people who dared to visit the Lake District “and fury as hordes of tourists pack our beauty spots”.
Turning to page 5 we then have the hapless Tim Farron seeking government financial support for “Cumbria’s crippled tourist industry”.
Do we need to encourage tourists to visit or stay away - you can’t have both!
