We can all celebrate the achievement of our country in going more than two months without needing coal but locally we also need to ask: Why has Cumbria County Council still not rejected the application to open the first deep coal mine in the UK for 30 years?
Surely it is time for our county councillors to deliver on their supposed recognition of the climate crisis. Rhetoric is not enough.
