THE hunt for Westmorland Cricket League silverware is beginning to hot up with cup competitions reaching the business end – the first of which takes place this evening.

Milnthorpe, currently third in the table, will play eighth-placed Windermere in the Beaumont Bygones Division One Twenty20 Trophy final at Arnside CC (5.30pm start).

On Sunday, there will be intriguing semi-final clash in the Hackney and Leigh Cup when Division One leaders Shireshead – who are hunting a league and cup double – take on second-placed Warton. They will play either Windermere or Ambleside in the final, which will take place at Bolton-le-Sands CC on Sunday, August.

Carnforth CC have already won the Division Two Cup and Cartmel or Netherfield will be looking to lift the Division Three silverware when they meet in the Kendal Trophies Trophy final at Sedgwick CC on Sunday (2pm start).

In the Moon and Coxhill Division Four Trophy final, Silverdale will play the winners of the semi-final between Ambleside and Windermere. The final will take place on Sunday, August 23 (2pm start).

And Kirkby Lonsdale have reached the final of Woodbridge and Mounsey Division Five Trophy where they will play either Ingleton or Galgate.

The final takes place on August 30 at a venue yet to be confirmed.
