FORMER winners Kendal United crashed out of The High Sheriffs Cup at the first round stage after losing 3-2 in extra time against Sedbergh Wanderers.

Sedbergh pulled off the result thanks to goals from Jack Leddy, Craig Gardner and Alistair Bainbridge.

Brandon Croskell-Robinson and Ben Porter were on the scoresheet for Kendal at Bulmire Stripes.

Appleby are also through thanks to a narrow 2-1 win at Windermere.

In the Cumberland County Cup, Keswick progressed into the next round following a comfortable 5-1 win at Northbank.

Andy Rigg and prolific goal scorer Richard Bannister both scored twice before Tom Atkinson completed the rout.

In the Mason and Freeman Cup, Langwathby Utd edged out Keswicks Reserves 2-1, whilst in the Peter Daws Memorial Shield Burneside's Reserves defeated Appleby's Reserves 4-0 - Scott O'Callaghan with a brace, whilst Tom Taylor and Nathan Gill were also on target.

In Westmorland League Division One just one game was played as Kirkoswald picked up three points with a 4-1 win at Unisun Athletic.

The busiest of action was in Westmorland League Division Three, as Dent Reserves defeated Greystokes Reserves 2-1.

Eden Thistle climbed up to second in the table following a 7-2 rout of Ibis Reserves, whilst Endmoor KGR’s Reserves defeated Penrith Royal 5-3 in a high scoring encounter at Woodhill Lane.

The final game of the afternoon saw Ullswater United defeat Penrith Academy 1-0.
