KENDAL United were dumped out of the Benevolent Trophy at the second round stage in a 3-0 home defeat to Westmorland Football League Division One leaders Keswick.

Both teams, who finished in top two last season, battled out a competitive first half with chances for either side.

However Keswick dominated Kendal United in the second half with Declan Robinson, Sam Reilly and Stephen Hilton all on target.

In the other games Ibis battled back from 2-0 down to defeat Sedbergh Wanderers 3-2 at the Havera Playing Fields.

Sedbergh raced into a 2-0 lead thanks to goals from Oli Wales and Luke Packham, however Ibis launched a stunning comeback through Tim Blamire, Jez Walsh and Cory Robinson.

Milnthorpe Corinthians Reserves also progressed into the next round after an emphatic 7-0 win over Langwathby United, while AFC Carlisle picked up a narrow 2-1 win at Dent.

In the second round of The Senior Challenge Cup, defending cup holders Milnthorpe Corinthians eased through after a comfortable 5-1 win at Penrith Reserves while a Sean Elliot brace edged Kirkoswald into the next round after a narrow 2-1 win at Burneside.

There was only one Westmorland League Division One Game played as Windermere defeated Kendal County Reserves 2-0. Windermere are now up to third place in the table ahead of their crucial trip to Kendal United on Saturday afternoon.

The top two in Westmorland League Division Two both picked up empathic wins after Wetheriggs United Reserves routed Kendal United Reserves 6-0, while Connor Crawshaw, Adam Soulby and Bradley Hodgson eased second placed Endmoor KGR to a 3-0 win at Ullswater United.

Keswick Reserves and Shap battled out a 3-3 draw,

In the other Division Two games Carleton Banks defeated Windermere Reserves 2-0 while Staveley United picked up a narrow 2-1 win at Braithwaite.

Ambleside Town went level on points with AFC Carlisle at the top of Division Three after they defeated Sedbergh Wanderers Reserves 5-1.

Ambleside United Reserves routed Penrith Saints 5-2, while a hat-trick by Scott O'Callaghan eased Endmoor KGR Reserves to a comfortable 8-2 win over Burneside Reserves.

In the other games Penrith Royal defeated Ibis Reserves 3-1,Kirkoswald Reserves and Penrith Academy drew 2-2, while a hat trick by Andy Butt helped Appleby Reserves to a 6-1 win at Penrith Town.
