WESTGATE remained at the top of Westmorland Cricket League Division One after an emphatic 111 run victory over Ambleside.

Andrew Hill posted an undefeated first innings knock of 102 off 134 balls as Westgate posted a dominant 226-3 off 45 overs. In reply, Dylan Conroy's 5-37 saw Ambleside all out for 115 off 37 overs.

Arnside defeated Warton by 44 runs. Rob Shepherd's undefeated 61 and Richard Hodgson's 52 saw Arnside post an imposing chase of 207-7. Warton battled back in their reply, but Shepherd's second innings return of 5-42 saw Warton bowled out for 163.

Carnforth had to settle for a winning draw at Holme. Ryan Nelson posted 97 in Carnforth's declared total of 215-4 before Holme held out as they finished their reply on 148-6.

Sam Calverley returned figures of 5-50 as Heysham defeated Milnthorpe by four wickets, while Shireshead defeated Silverdale by seven runs. Thomas Jacques posted 75 in Shireshead's first 209-6. Irfan Qayyum's second innings 4-82 saw Silverdale all out for 202.

Sedgwick remain the team to beat in Division Two after picking up two victories over the Bank Holiday weekend. On Saturday, Sedgwick defeated Heysham A by 98 runs. Mike Bracken made 87 as Sedgwick posted 226, while Heysham's Kyle Whitlock returned 5-56.

Heysham battled in their reply through David Parker's 64 but Chris Evans' 5-34 saw Heysham all out for 118. On Monday Sedgwick saw off Kirkby Lonsdale by 46 runs.

Harvey Williams posted an undefeated 80 and returned figures of 6-36 as Kirkby Lonsdale defeated Trimpell by nine wickets. Adam Dyson picked up figures of 7-10 in Bolton-le-Sands' 50-run victory over Bare while Cameron Holmes top scored with an undefeated 65 in Carnforth A’s four wicket win against Ingleton.

Penrith seconds defeated Westgate A by 44 runs. On Monday Shireshead A defeated Bare by two runs, Bolton-le-Sands defeated Ingleton by six wickets, while Trimpell defeated Westgate by two wickets.

In Division Three Netherfield Thirds defeated Arnside A by three runs, while Burneside A routed Holme. In Division four Netherfield's fourth team picked up a winning draw against Bare A.
