CARUS Green golf club junior captain Harriet Barker has proved her talent twice over – winning not only the club's junior Championship but the ladies championship too!

The Ladies tournament saw the 16-year-old Queen Katherine School pupil play rounds of 75 and 77 to win the 36-holes title by a massive 11 shots margin. She then took the Junior title 24-hours later.

Playing off a handicap of, three, it is now the fourth time that Harriet has won the ladies championship, having also won the Cumbria County ladies championship and Summer Trophy this year.

Ladies runner-up was Carus Green’s golf manager and county vets best nett champion Margaret Bebington, and the nett champion was Janet Ingham.

“Harriet has had a great season – and to hold this title for four years in a row is impressive,” said her coach and Carus pro Dave Turner. “We are starting to see some extremely talented young players coming through the ranks now and Harriet is a real inspiration to them.”
