ENDMOOR KGR produced the shock result of the James Cropper Westmorland League weekend as they beat high-fliers Appleby 2-0.

Appleby, who won the treble last season and have already booked their place in this season’s Invitation Trophy final, were shocked by Graham Sill’s Endmoor team that had been in a poor run of form but came out full of confidence and had goals by Aiden Dent and Alistair Wilson to thank as they picked up the much-needed points.

A Tyler James strike from 25 yards in injury time gave Ibis a dramatic 2-1 win over Wetheriggs United – Ibis had earlier opened the scoring through Cory Robinson before Wetheriggs levelled and left it for James’s wonder strike to seal the points.

In the final Division One game, Keswick made it seven wins on the bounce with a hard fought 3-2 verdict at Sedbergh Wanderers.

In Division Two, Kendal County Reserves beat Kendal United Reserves 2-0 with Robbie Wallace and Ruben Swallow both on target, and Keswick Reserves routed Windermere Reserve 5-0 while Dent won 4-1 at Greystoke and Eden Thistle defeated Ambleside United 6-1.

In Division Three, Burneside continued their fine run of form to move up to second in the table with a 4-1 win at Lunesdale United, where Connor Stephenson scored twice while Jay Hayton and Cameron Bell were also on target.

Four goals from Alex Jackson backed up by a Michael Trotter hat trick saw Penrith Royal win 8-1 at Penrith Saints while Penrith Academy saw off Endmoor KGR Reserves 5-1 as Connor Dorsey scored twice.

And Langwathby United beat Sedbergh Wanderers Reserves 4-2 with Dan Ridley claiming two goals while Joe Banks and Jamie Upex got the others.
