A young female athlete from Bowness on Windermere has dominated the world of golf winning over 17 tournaments this year.
Having just won the under 12s Golf Championships in Portugal Leanne Kokolay, aged 12, has high hopes set to get a place in the England Under 18 northern region squad.
The Windermere golf club player is now competing for Cumbria Ladies golf association as well as being a member at Kendal golf club.
"I have learned a lot this year playing at Windermere and everyone has been very helpful. I am determined to get better and I hope that one day I can play like Tiger Woods and Georgie Hall and travel the world."
Her father, John Kokolay, could not be more proud "I am so pleased for her and for what she has achieved so far. She is setting a great example and sending a positive message for young girls that they can achieve a lot in sport if they just put their mind to it."
