Kendal Squash Club had a frustrating night as all three of its teams suffered poor results.

Kendal A team fared best, picking up a much-needed point in an 8-8 draw with Carlisle B as they fought back from 2-0 down after Ben Hetherington and Selina Sinclair picked up 3-0 victories against Kendal’s Andy Chant and Russell Lillebridge.

However, the locals hit back as Graeme Braithwaite and Max Castaldi picked up respective 3-0 wins against Adam Reid and Joe Byrne.

It proved a frustrating night for Kendal B as they lost 16-5 at Wigton, where vice captain Mark Jackson was beaten 3-0 by Andrew Thwaite and Ollie Hayton lost in five sets to Guy Huxtable.

Ian Garnett then missed his chance in the fourth set to lose 3-1 to Rachel Kennon and while Dave Archer was edged out 3-2 in the final game.

The C team played their first home league game of the season and lost 16-3 to Carlisle D.

Dennis Watson lost 3-0 to Ryan Ballentine before Paul Duhig pushed Carlisle’s Ryan Bell all the way, only to lose in five sets. Neil Fisher impressed on debut but lost 3-1 to Steve Dent and Colin Gibson lost 3-0 to Elio Garden.
