Would you welcome a return to Ewood Park for former Rovers loanee Sam Gallagher in January?

Sam Gallagher was popular with supporters when he was last on loan at Rovers scoring 12 goals.

He has all the attributes of a good striker being a big guy, young, talented with a lot of power and pace.

If he is now fit are Southampton likely to loan him with their desperate need for goals and points?

Given the likely competition it would be a real coup by Mr Mowbray to bring him back and ease the pressure on the likes of Danny Graham as the other Rovers' contenders are struggling to make their mark

I don't understand why we'd invest in Ben Brereton and then give Sam Gallagher game time especially as both players are similar in style and still developing.

Gallagher had a good attitude and showed some promise in his time at the club, although not enough.

He had all the attributes, yet he didn't use them. He was big but not physical and tall but hardly won a header.

Maybe that will come with age and maturity but he is still a long way off and we can't afford to be the club where he learns his trade.

We do need a striker, but I'd like to see one with good movement and an eye for goal although I'd invest in pacey wingers first.

Sam Gallagher had a decent time here on loan during our ill-fated relegation season.

He would prove a good option for the squad, were Danny Graham to be injured, or just unfit.

He does know the club as well, which is always a positive. I do worry about what that may mean for Ben Brereton though.

The promising youngster still hasn’t made a league start for the club, and Gallagher could potentially see him fall down the pecking order, if Mowbray sees Gallagher as a better rounded option.

I trust Mowbray to make the right decision either way, and would welcome him back if he was to make a Rovers return.
