NEW-look Kendal Town made light of their crisis to claim a shock 4-2 Evo-Stik League West Division win at Market Drayton Town.

And to make the on-the-road success all the more remarkable, the Mintcakes - fielding 11 debutants - came from 2-0 down for the win.

New boss Steve Edmondson looked to be heading for defeat when Paul McMullen and Jordan Davies put the Gingerbread Men 2-0 ahead inside the first 10 minutes.

But Town hit back as Aaron Helliwell slotted home a penalty and Cory Vickers made it 2-2.

Helliwell converted his and Kendal's second penalty to make it 3-2 before the break before George Mason's effort 13 minutes from time made it 4-2 to the locals.

In rugby union it was a bad day for Kendal as they were beaten 38-0 by Harrogate in the Northern Division.

But Kirkby Lonsdale had plenty to celebrate as they claimed a 31-17 win on the road at Lymm.
