Even the most die hard of Kendal fans would have been surprised with the 4-2 win at Market Drayton Town, considering there were 11 new players making their debuts.

It did not start well - Kendal were 2-0 down after 10 minutes. However, the team engineered arguably one of the most remarkable comebacks, considering the current circumstances at the club.

Kendal's team had a different look to its starting line up, including former players Aaron Helliwell, George Mason and Cory Vickers who made their return.

All three players had been at the club in previous seasons. The rest of the team consisted of players from various different clubs.

Credit goes to Steve Edmondson and Craig Dootson for building a brand new team in such a short space of time. After months of difficulty, it was good for the club to finally get a result.

The line up was far stronger than what anyone could have predicted.

A lot of the players are young and have a point to prove, while others such as Helliwell, Mason and Vickers have the experience of playing for the club.

I am certain more players will be recruited in the coming weeks as both Steve and Craig look to get Kendal out of trouble.

The win, coupled with Glossop’s heavy defeat ,leaves Kendal just one point away from safety and they entertain Glossop in the big relegation six pointer on Saturday. Kendal then play host to Kidsgrove on Tuesday night in what are two crucial games.

Let’s hope that Kendal can build some momentum and get away from trouble as quickly as possible.
