Lytham St Annes Men's 2s, 0 Kendal Men's 2s 5

Kendal travelled to Lytham St Annes and immediately put pressure on the home side.

Eventually the pressure told and Steve Barclay broke through into the Lytham D and let fly with a rocket of a shot.

Although the keeper saved Barclay’s effort, it was all he could do to parry it straight to the stick of Matt Clinton who slotted the ball home.

It was 2-0 when Clinton was on hand to drill the ball home after Harry Denney’s shot came off the crossbar.

Clinton thought he had scored again soon after, but was denied a first-half hat-trick when the effort was disallowed.

Lytham changed their formation for the start of the second half and for a while it their turn to put Kendal under pressure but they weathered the storm and made it 3-0 as Steve Barclay fired an unstoppable, one-handed volley.

Barclay turned provider for the fourth as he set up Conlin to complete his hat-trick.

And it was 5-0 when Conlin played Barclay in and his first-time punch-shot slammed into the corner of the goal.
