KENDAL travelled to York and started well in the sunshine they started well.

However, it was York who opened the scoring in the 20 minute through open play, as they slotted it past the Kendal keeper.

Eight minutes later, Celia Powell positioned herself to intercept a York hit out and she wasted no time in drilling it past the keeper to make it 1-1.

Both teams worked hard throughout when attacking and in defence, including player of the match Kendal goal keeper Ruth Sealey, who did her fair share of scrambling around to ensure she kept the ball out of her net.

After the break, excellent defending from Molly Wilson meant York rarely entered the D with any promising styles of attack despite them trying to push on.

But despite their hard work, the visitors were unable to get ahead and the game finished a 1-1 draw.
