RUGBY union returns this weekend after a Six Nations Saturday off — and there are big games for both Kendal and Kirkby Lonsdale.

Kendal are fighting against the drop from the North Premier division and were beaten for the 14th time this season by Sandal last time out.

They are on the road on Saturday and head to the North East for a tough game against Billingham, who are riding high in second place in the table.

Kirkby Lonsdale have been in decent form of late, despite a loss to Harrogate last time out, and they will look to move further clear of trouble when they make the trip to Wakefield for their game with Sandal.

Windermere were due in action last weekend against Moresby but that game was cancelled by the opposition.

Instead, they travelled to Cockermouth for a friendly against Cockermouth seconds.

Both teams made the most of the workout with Windermere playing some players out of position and giving some fringe players much needed game time.

And they edged a tight match 20-19.

Windermere are due back in Cumbria Division Two action on Saturday when they travel up the west coast to face Workington.
