NATLAND C gained promotion to Division 1 of the Kendal &and District Table Tennis League with a comprehensive 28-8 win against Grayrigg A in their final match of the season.
Player of the match Andrea Jorksich and Peter Leahy were both unbeaten but James Robinson suffered two agonising final game defeats, losing 11-5, 11-4, 8-11, 10-12, 11-9 to Steve Hawley and 8-11, 11-7, 2-11, 11-7, 12-10 to Sam Housego.
It was more than enough, however, for Natland C to leapfrog their D team, finish in second place and join Crook B in promotion to Division 1.
The final of the Knock Out Cup will take place at 7pm on Wednesday, April 17, at the Burton Memorial Hall and will be contested by the youngsters of Natland E and Grayrigg B.
The final will be followed by the presentation of trophies to the winners of the two Divisions, the KO Cup and the Divisional Shield, plus special presentations to worthy volunteers and the winners of the doubles trophy.
