NETHERFIELD Seconds lost by 46 runs at Longridge in Palace Shield Division One B.

Longridge posted 165-9 off 45 overs, with Matt Joyce scoring 55.

Isaac Medhurst returned figures of 4-44, while Samuel Medhurst picked up a return of 3-35 and Samuel Medhurst claimed 2-25.

Netherfield struggled in their reply, closing on 119-9 off 45 overs.

Joel Derham top scored with 48, while Jacob Proctor, William Vause and Jake Durnell picked up three wickets each.

Kendal Seconds lost by 56 runs to Leyland at Shap Road. Kendal initially did well, bowling Leyland out for 136 off 37.2 overs. Joseph Dodds and David Batty picked up three wickets each for the hosts, while Harry Lee claimed two before both Alec Carradus and Oliver Tyson claimed two wicket apiece.

However, Kendal were whittled out for just 80 off 35.3 overs, with Michael Birchall claiming figures of 3-21, while Steven Pallett, Joe Shackleton and Will Smith finished with two wickets each.

At the weekend Netherfield Seconds host Fulwood and Broughton Seconds while Kendal travel to play Vernon Carus Seconds. Wickets will be pitched for both games at 1.30pm.
