THE Kendal and District Bowling League entered into its third week on what proved to be another interesting round of action.

In Division One Lindale A defeated Hale A 7-3. Hale made a positive start when Mike Robinson picked up the best result after seeing off Dave Nicholson 21-15.

However, Laraine Keating’s 21-12 victory over Derek Bell, as well as respective 21-18 wins for Stephen Viney and Mike Atkinson, saw Lindale take control of the game.

Barbara Petit claimed further points for Lindale after defeating John Reilly 21-11, while Bill Keating sealed the win after edging out Norman McLeod 21-19.

Hale's other points came from Ian France, who won 21-15 against Mark Heywood, while Mike Procter edged out Audrey Silvester 21-18.

In the other games Holme are top of the league following an impressive 9-1 win against Netherfield A. Holme, who have won three games from three3, saw Daniel Varcoe and Mathew Stewart pick up respective 21-11 victories against Peter Shepherd and John Capstick.

Gavin Whitehead, Stephen Ashburn, Bob Grisedale, Mark Ashburn and Callum Baxter also picked up important wins for the home team, while Rod Holmes claimed the only for Netherfield after battling past Liam Baxter 21-19.

Levens A moved up to third place after defeating Windermere A 9-1, Staveley A and Victoria B drew 5-5, Holme B won 7-3 at Burneside A, while Victoria A defeated Burton A 8-2.

In Division Two, Abbot Hall A defeated Subscription A 8-2, Crosthwaite A, and Windermere B claimed respective 7-3 wins against Kirkby Lonsdale A and Allithwaite A, while both Ambleside A and Burton B picked up 8-2 victories over Netherfield C and Levens B.

Netherfield B defeated Ambleside B 9-1 at Parkside Road.

Victoria C are top of Division Three after they defeated Windermere C 9-1. In the other games Endmoor A held on before winning 6-4 against Ingleborough A. Lower Holker A defeated Milnthorpe A 9-1, while Arnside A, Heversham A and Allithwaite B picked up respective 8-2 victories against Sedbergh, Allithwaite C and Holme C.

Arnside B, Burneside B and Lower Holker B all claimed respective 7-3 wins in Division Four after they defeated Hale B, Abbot Hall B, and Subscription B.

Bowness A and Langdale both claimed nervy 6-4 victories against Lindale B and Victoria D, while Netherfield D impressed after winning 8-2 against Hawkshead.

In Division Five, Holme D drew 5-5 with Subscription C, Levens C won 8-2 at Lindale C, while Kirkby Lonsdale B, Crosthwaite B and Burneside C also claimed important victories.

Meanwhile in Division Six, Silverdale, Milnthorpe B, Ambleside C, Staveley C and Sedbergh B all picked up wins in their respective games.
