BEAUTIFUL sunshine bathed Kirkby Lonsdale Golf Club as members welcomed their new captains and president with their traditional drive-in.
A large group of members gathered at the first tee to see men’s captain Mick Reid, lady captain Fliss Holloway, seniors captain Mike Threlfall and new President John Woof all drive off in the now traditional fashion using an old hickory shafted driver.
And Fliss Holloway celebrated her new role in fine fashion by triumphing in the ladies' section of the well attended stableford competition which followed.
Full results of the competition were as follows: Gents:1st Ivan Coates, 2nd Joe Bowman, 3rd Richard Shaw. Ladies: 1st Fliss Holloway, 2nd Liz Sumner, 3rd Angela Scott. Seniors: 1st Andrew Mackay, 2nd Neil Nute, 3rd Martin Smith.
