A PRESTIGIOUS fixture is to be hosted by Carnforth Cricket Club on Sunday (May 12).
The ground is the venue for the Royal London Ladies' one-day cup fixture.
It will see Lancashire Ladies pitted against Nottinghamshire Ladies in a 50-overs-a-side match which will feature several internationals. The ladies will be wearing coloured clothing and the game will be played with a white ball and black sightscreens.
The match will start at 11am. The bar will be open and there will be a barbecue.
"Ladies cricket is the growth area in the game at the moment and this is a great opportunity to promote it in the area," said club spokesman Peter Robinson. "The club is very proud to have been asked to stage this prestigious fixture, and it makes all the efforts of the members over the past year, refurbishing the facilities, seem worthwhile."
