NETHERFIELD A are up to fourth place in Division One of The Kendal and District Bowling League after defeating Victoria B 7-3.

Rod Holmes claimed the first points after battling past Victoria B’s Terry Mercer 21-19, before Peter Shepherd picked up the best result after winning 21-4 against Dan Hartley.

Netherfield surged further clear through Roy Crompton after he saw off Matthew Simpson 21-7. However, Simeon Noble gave some hope to Victoria B when he defeated John Sarsfield 21-14.

However, the A Team continued to pick up the points through John Capstick when he battled past Hazel Borradile 21-19, while Sue Hogarth eased past Paul Crossland 21-12.

Victoria B finished with a late flourish when Susan Hillbeck eased past Ian France 21-12, while Dave Hourihan held on before beating Jonathan Nicholson 21-18.

In the other games Holme A remained four points clear at the top after they edged out Windermere A 6-4, Victoria A stayed second with an 8-2 win against Lindale A, Levens A defeated Burneside A 9-1, Burton A edged out Staveley A 6-4, while Hale A won 8-2 at Holme B.

Burton B are 12 points clear at the top of Division Two. However, they were pushed all the way before battling past Abbot Hall A 6-4.

Kirkby Lonsdale A and Netherfield B were also 6-4 winners after they picked up respective victories against Ambleside A and Crosthwaite A.

In the final games Ambleside B, Subscription A and Netherfield C picked up 7-3 wins against Levens B,Windermere B and Allithwaite A.

Victoria C continued to dominate Division Three after they claimed an impressive 9-1 win against Arnside A, Windermere C defeated Endmoor A 7-3, while Milnthorpe A and Allithwaite B were also 7-3 winners after they claimed respective wins over Sedbergh and Lower Holker A.

Ingleborough A edged out Allithwaite C 6-4, before Holme C defeated Heversham A.

In Division Four, Burneside B defeated Lindale B 9-1, Bowness A won 7-3 at Hale and Subscription B claimed the bragging rights after they picked up a 7-3 win against Netherfield D.

Lower Holker B battled past Abbot Hall B 8-2, while both Hawkshead and Arnside B claimed respective 6-4 wins against Victoria D and Langdale.

Levens C are four points clear at the top of Division Five following an emphatic victory against Windermere D. Staveley B and Crosthwaite B both claimed respective 7-3 wins Kirkby Lonsdale B and Burneside C.

Subscription C won 8-2 at Heversham B before Lindale C defeated Holme D.

Bowness B, Burton-in-Lonsdale, Subscription D, Sedbergh B and Silverdale all picked up crucial wins in Division Six.
