IT PROVED to be an amazing day for Kendal based charity Vision of Adventure at the British Paratriathlon Championships as their visually impaired triathletes swept the board in the women’s event.

Andrea Logan, guided by Kendal tri club athlete Kath Finn, took the gold, silver went to Katy Colman and bronze to Emily Banks.

The women, pictured below, raced on a course consisting of a 750m open water swim, followed by 20k on tandems and a 5km run, with each visually impaired competitor having a guide tethered to them for the swim and run and piloting the tandem for the bike leg.

Linda Gaitskill, 63, who is completely blind and two years ago could not swim, put in a great effort to complete the course as the oldest competitor.
