VICTORIA remain top of South Westmorland Senior Bowling League Division One after a resounding 8-0 victory against Silverdale A.

Bob Newby and Alan Medcalf both picked up the best results for the home team after respective 21-9 victories over Peter Roberts and John Booth.

In the other single games Keith Hartley defeated Dave Green 21-13 before Terry Mercer saw off Geoff Jackson 21-14.

And Victoria continued to dominate in the doubles as Chris Wyatt and Keith Atkinson defeated Jack Smith and Robert Law 21-11, while Terry Mercer and Mick Simpson completed the rout with a resounding 21-13 victory against David Platt and Keith Earnshaw.

In the other games Levens A, Lindale A and Burneside A all picked up respective 7-1 victories against Windermere A, Springfield A and Holme A.

Carnforth A continued to lead the way at the top of Division Two after they defeated Warton A 6-2, while Arnside A had a convincing 7-1 victory at Ingleborough A.

Allithwaite A picked up a 6-2 victory against Heversham A, Abbot Hall A defeated Lower Holker A 7-1, while Kirkby Lonsdale A edged out a 5-3 victory against Bolton Le Sands A.

In Division Three, Lower Holker B beat and Carnforth B picked up respective 7-1 victories against Abbot Hall B and Milnthorpe A, while Levens B and Sedbergh B claimed 5-3 wins over Endmoor A and Hawkshead.

Bowness A defeated Lindale A 8-0 before Burneside B ran out 6-2 winners against Burton-in-Lonsdale.

Subscription B picked up a crucial 6-2 victory against Allithwaite B in Division Four, while Windermere B battled past Ingleborough A 5-3, and Springfield B and Crosthwaite B claimed 6-2 wins over Victoria B and Kirkby Lonsdale B respectively.

Silverdale B, Bolton Le Sands B, Sedbergh A and Heversham B picked up important wins in Division Five.
