THERE was a real family connection when Netherfield’s Fourth Team travelled to play Bolton-le-Sands in a Westmorland League game last week.
When trying to get 11 players available proved to be difficult, four of the younger players’ fathers ended up lining in the same team as their children.
Billy Coxon teamed up with his son Oscar while Spencer Samson was in the team with Vaughan and in addition, Michael Irving and his son Reece were also in the line up along with Mark and Lewis Airey.
However, the family effort proved all in vain as the match was unfortunately rained off.
