IT was another dramatic week of action across the six divisions of the Kendal and District Bowling League.

In Division One, Burneside A and Staveley A drew 5-5 in the relegation battle which leaves the former still bottom on 32 points while Staveley remained second from bottom on 34 points..

Burneside made a good start after David Jackson saw off Andrew Atkinson 21-14, and they continued to pick up points when Gary Bingham edged out Russell Cannon 21-20 and David Heness and Colin Slinger claimed respective victories against Julie Johnson and Matthew Cannon.

However Staveley A stayed in the game when Alan Biggins defeated Robert Atkinson 21-16 and Wayne Harby defeated David Tugman 21-10.

Burneside edged in front thanks to Kevin Bateman’s 21-17 victory over David Reid, but Staveley claimed a share of the spoils when Vinny Harper defeated Barry Minshall 21-13.

In the other games, Holme continued to dominate at the top of Division One after they edged out Lindale A 6-4, but Victoria remained in second place following a resounding 9-1 victory against Holme B.

Netherfield A won 7-3 at Burton A, Windermere A defeated Hale A 8-2, while Levens A defeated Victoria B 9-1.

Kirkby Lonsdale A edged one point clear at the top of Division Two after they saw off Levens B 8-2, Netherfield C won 6-4 at Subscription A, Ambleside A won 8-2 at Abbot Hall A while Crosthwaite A and Netherfield B both picked up respective 9-1 victories against Allithwaite A and Windermere B.

In Division Three, Allithwaite B and Arnside A both claimed respective 7-3 victories over Sedbergh and Heversham A.

Victoria C remained on top after they defeated Allithwaite C, while both Holme C and Milnthorpe A won 9-1 against Ingleborough A and Windermere C respectively.

Bowness A won 8-2 at Netherfield D in Division Four, Shane Barron picking up the best result after seeing off Geoff Burgin 21-8.

Crosthwaite B, Lindale C and Levens C all picked respective 7-3 victories in Division Five against Kirkby Lonsdale B, Heversham B and Staveley B, while Silverdale A, Staveley C, Milnthorpe B, Burton in Lonsdale, Allithwaite D and Sedbergh B all picked up vital wins in Division Six.
