A NORTHERLY breeze and glorious sunshine set the scene for Saturday’s Windermere Class 17 Foot fleet’s Centenary Cup race.

A tactical race developed as Fathom, helmed by Graham Murray, led Chameleon, helmed by Nigel Tullett, and Pilgrim, helmed by Dave Milburn.

The breeze held to the finish with Fathom coming first, Pilgrim second and Chameleon third, while Capella, helmed by Richard Thompson, crossed the line first of the classics and fourth overall.

The Flying Fifteens competed in the Sophie Rose Bowl on Sunday, and in the first of two races, a real tussle took place between Felix Felicis, helmed by Julian Newman, Carbon Footprint, helmed by Phil Snewin, and Pitch Perfect, helmed by Dave Heron.

Carbon Footprint eventually crossed the line first with Niffty, helmed by Nigel Tullett, coming through into second place and Pitch Perfect third.

The second race in increasingly windy conditions saw Felix Felicis win narrowly from Niffty with Carbon Footprint third.

Last Thursday evening’s Dinghy Handicap race saw difficult windy conditions and an action packed race saw Claude, an RS100, helmed by John Richardson, split the two leading GP14s, Judith Gore’s Dreamcatcher and Nigel Hutchinson’s Supersonic for second place.
