Four weeks remain in the South Westmorland Senior Bowling League while the battle for supremacy continued across all five divisions.

In Division One, Victoria A continued to lead the way at the top after they defeated Subscription A 8-0, while Netherfield A remained in second place when they saw off Silverdale A by the same score.

In the other games Warton A, Lindale A and Levens A all picked up respective 6-2 victories over Windermere A, Holme A and Springfield A while Burneside A defeated Netherfield B 8-0.

The stand out game in Division Two saw Abbot Hall A defeat Netherfield C 6-2, Abbot Hall who remained in fourth place saw Roy Taylor defeat Keith Robinson 21-14, while Geoff Robinson battled past David Airey 21-17.

Each game proved to be hard fought with Norman Lobb claiming further points for the home team following his 21-16 victory against David Colloby.

Netherfield C stayed in the game thanks to Andy Blackmans 21-11 victory against Denise Noble, while in the doubles Howard Dixon and Barbara Aikman won a marathon match when they edged out the Abbot Hall pairing of Gordon Atkinson and Sally Boardley 21-18.

However Abbot Hall finished the game off in style following Martin Scarborough and John Stricklands 21-10 victory over Malcom Booker and Julia Booker.

As for the other teams in Division Two, Crosthwaite A defeated Arnside A 6-2,Ingleborough A and Bolton Le Sands A both picked up respective 5-3 victories against Heversham A and Warton B,Allithwaite A defeated Lower Holker A 6-2 while Carnforth A and Kirkby Lonsdale A drew 4-4.

Lower Holker B continued to dominate Division Three after they whitewashed Lindale B 8-0,Bowness A eased past Abbot Hall B 7-1,Burneside B and Burton in Lonsdale both claimed respective 5-3 wins against Milnthorpe A and Levens B.

Sedbergh B defeated Carnforth B 6-2 before Endmoor A eased past Hawkshead 7-1.

In Division Four,Windermere B held onto defeat Crosthwaite B 5-3,Subscription B defeated Ingleborough B 7-1, Allithwaite B won 6-2 at Holme B while Kirkby Lonsdale B eased past Victoria B 8-0.

Silverdale B, Heversham B and Arnside B all picked up crucial points in Division Five which rounded off an interesting afternoon in The South Westmorland Senior Bowling League.
