Only five points separate both Victoria A and Netherfield A as The Senior Bowling League reached its second to last week of the season.

The destination for this seasons Division One crown will now go to the last day in what is set to be a thrilling finish to the campaign.

Victoria A remained top of the division following a resounding 7-1 victory over Windermere A, Geoff Thompson and Chris Wyatt both picked up crucial points after Thompson defeated Robert Lord 21-5 while Wyatt battled past Gordon Crawford 21-15.

The home team continued to run riot with Bob Newby battling past Peter Green, while in the doubles Mick Simpson and Alan Medcalf edged out Chris Goodwin and Chris West 21-20.

And in the other doubles encounter Keith Atkinson and Martin Gilpin claimed the best result after they defeated Phil King and Joan Loveland 21-1.

Windermeres only point came from Ron Jones who defeated Keith Hartley 21-19 in a hard fought contest.

Defending Champions Netherfield A meanwhile remained in contention when they won 6-2 at Burneside A. Peter Shepherd and John Capstick impressed in the doubles claiming the best result with an emphatic 21-4 victory over Ann Slinger and Dave O Callaghan.

In the other games Lindale A, Warton A, Netherfield B and Levens A all picked up respective 6-2 wins over Subscription A, Springfield A, Holme A and Silverdale A.

Kirkby Lonsdale A are three points clear at the top of division two following a hard fought 5-3 win at Crosthwaite A, Bolton Le Sands A saw off Netherfield C 6-2,Ingleborough A and Allithwaite A both claimed respective 5-3 wins against Warton B and Carnforth A.

Arnside A won 6-2 at Abbot Hall A, while Lower Holker A defeated Heversham A 8-0.

In Division Three, Endmoor A, Burton in Lonsdale, and Bowness A all picked up respective 6-2 wins against Abbot Hall B, Lindale B and Burneside B, Lower Holker B secured promotion into Division Two after they won 5-3 at Sedbergh B.

And in the final games Milnthorpe A and Carnforth B both claimed respective 8-0 wins over Levens B and Hawkshead.
