A SUPERB effort by the young team from Kendal Golf Club saw them to a thrilling success in the final of the Cumbria Junior Golf Matchplay League.
The team retained the title their club colleagues won last year after seeing off Eden GC of Carlisle by the narrowest of margins.
To reach the final, they had won the southern region section of the league and squared up to northern section winners Eden at Penrith GC.
After a tie in the main event with both sides scoring 2.5 points, Kendal clinched the win at the first extra hole of the sudden death play-off.
As county champions, the team will now go forward to the regional final of the English Junior Team Championships to be held later this month.
