WOMEN'S football is booming as never before, and a local team is now recruiting in the hope of strengthening further after their opening season of competition.

Kendal United's recently formed senior ladies' team have just completed their opening campaign in the Cumbrian Women's Summer League and made huge strides during the campaign.

And the club's ladies' co-ordinator Geoff Rowlinson is hoping to boost numbers enough to continue that progress in the months ahead with a number of friendlies already planned in preparation for next season's summer league.

The squad trains every Wednesday evening from 7pm to 8pm on the artificial surface at Kendal RUFC, and any ladies aged 15 or over are very welcome to come down and give it a try.
