HOLME A remain on course for glory as the Floodlight League at Kendal's Victoria Bowling Club enters the final few weeks of the season.

The leaders continued to forge ahead in the Hayes Garden World Premier Division after defeating Lindale 8-2 on Monday evening.

The defending champions, who are six points clear at the top, put on a resilient performance which featured Ira Collier and Ellie Chandler picking up a dramatic 21-19 victory over Laraine Keating and Mike Atkinson.

And Holme were also made to work for their win in the other games where Steve Ashburn and Dave McCroy saw off Dave Nicholson and Bill Keating 21-14, while there were 21-10 wins for Dave Grisedale and Steve Ashburn as well as Steve Varcoe and Matty Stewart.

Lindale's only points came from Mark Heywood and Barbara Petit who saw off Bob Grisedale and Mike Fell.

Victoria A remain second after defeating Abbot Hall A 10-0, while Netherfield A beat Victoria B 6-4 and Milnthorpe saw off Staveley 8-2.

Burneside remain at the top of The Cumberland Building Society League after they defeated Arnside 8-2.

The other games in that division saw Sedbergh run out 8-2 winners over Holme B, Allithwaite edging out Subscription 6-4 and Netherfield B defeating Heversham B 8-2.
