A DRAMATIC late conversion by Miriam Fuller gave Windermere Warriors a 41-39 victory over Vale of Lune Ladies in a fantastic game of rugby at Dawes Meadow.

On a calm, sunny afternoon, Vale opened the scoring with a converted try but after good work by scrum half Rachael Dyke, Ashley Gobbi crossed to cut the lead.

Two more Vale tries stretched the lead before Mere captain Holly Yates touched down and though the visitors scored again, Fuller set up Gobbi for her second to make the half time score 15-24.

Gobbi then completed her hat trick to cut the deficit to two points, but a burst of three Vale tries looked to have won the game for them.

Yet back came Mere and two more Gobbi tries set up that grandstand finish which saw Kerri Jackson send Feb Hooking in under the posts, with Fuller's kick sealing a fine win.

The team's weekly training and fitness session is on Wednesdays from 6:30pm to 8pm, all welcome.
