One of the martial arts world's premier events will be staged in South Cumbria later this month.

The annual Elite International Open Martial Arts seminar is being held at the Castle Green Hotel in Kendal from November 22-24 and is set to attract practitioners and enthusiasts from all over the world.

Hosted by the town's own Sport Nunchaku world champion, Sensei Rich Smith, the event commences with a formal dinner dance and awards ceremony on Friday, November 22.

The following day, a lucky few will have the opportunity to undertake private lessons with the elite instructors at Kesshin Kai’s headquarters in Windermere, and the event concludes on the Sunday when attendees will have the opportunity to sample a range of different martial arts under the instruction of some of the most highly-qualified instructors in their field.

Along with Sensei Smith, the line-up of expert instructors will include Sensei Marc Brémart from Switzerland, who is president of the Nunchaku International Academy and Sensei Julian Mallalieu from Manchester.

Completing the line-up will be London-based President of International Budo and 7th Dan Jiu Jitsu,Sensei Tom Starling, who is also celebrating his 40th year as a black belt, and Liverpool based master instructor and 8th Dan Ju-Jitsu Sensei Ken Culshaw, who has more than 50 years of experience training all over the world.
