We have got a busy week ahead of us and it compliments what we are trying to do as a community club, engaging with our fans and the wider community.

On Friday, we are launching our 2020 kit in the Raiders Bar. All our supporters are welcome to attend, and you can start your Christmas shopping early by purchasing the new design that the players will be sporting next year.

Also on Friday, we will be giving away last year’s shirts to our player sponsors. The player sponsors all come forward at our sponsors evening in January with each player auctioned off.

This is probably the most important night of the year commercially, as we look to sell both the players and other sponsorship packages. Look out for an announcement, with the venue already set for Abbey House.

Friday evening is complete with a question and answer session with both myself and head coach Paul Crarey fielding questions from the floor. If you want to hear about our vision for the direction of the club, then the Raiders Bar is the place to be.

On Sunday, we are supporting the wider community by hosting a charity football game, which will raise money for Children in Need.

Barrow Raiders are taking on a Barrow Celebrities side and it is hoped a lot of money will be raised for a great cause.

One hundred per cent of the gate receipts are going to the charity and there is a chance to join in a Guinness world record attempt for the number of people wearing a party hat at an event.

If you get to the ground between midday and 12:30pm, you will be able to register and join in the attempt. The current record stands at 1,161 and 1,200 hats have been provided by Tesco.

Admission is only £3 for adults and £1 for children and we hope to smash the record and raise a lot of money. The bars and catering facilities will be open and there will be pre-match entertainment so come down to Craven Park and enjoy the day.

Looking ahead to December, we have joined forces with Cloud 9 and are putting on an 80s night on Saturday, December 28 and a 90s night on Sunday, December 29.

The deal is that we take the ticket money and they make the money on the bars.

We have some top DJs lined up to provide the tunes from the decades, so please make a note in your diaries and enjoy a great evening over the Festive period.

Add in a few birthday and Christmas parties that have been booked in the Raiders Bar in the months ahead and we are managing to keep the finances ticking over during the off-season.

The plan is that we massively improve all our income streams and we will be working hard in all our other areas like commercial, community and crowd improvements so that we continue to grow as a club.
