THE experienced and highly rated Warren Bevan is to be the new course manager at Carus Green Golf Club.

After beginning his career in a similar role at Stockport GC, he then spent 12 very successful years in charge at Lancaster Golf Club.

Mr Bevan then moved on to Bearwood Lakes GC in Berkshire, which has regularly been voted in the top 100 Golf Courses in the UK.

He left this position to return to the region, joining Turfcare as one of the UK’s leading Turf Technical Advisers.

“As a regular visitor to Carus Green it always had a really good feel to me,” said Mr Bevan.

“The challenge is simple, to manage the course and the greens to be the best they possibly can be, and I can’t wait to get started.”

Carus Green proprietor Graham Curtin expressed his delight at the news.

“This appointment is quite a coup and a huge step forward for the Carus Green," he said.

"After the greens disease this year, we have had a tough few months but now we can look to the future with great excitement.

“Warren knows the club, the greens team, and the issues we have had to face, and he is undoubtedly the man to take us to the next level.

"With the help of the existing greens team they have already made huge strides with the course, which, for the time of year, is looking fantastic!”

Mr Bevan took up his duties at the beginning of this month and with his trusty Labrador, Oakley, at his side, has already become a familiar face with members and regular visitors.
