THERE’S little time for Steve Edmondson’s men to enjoy their Christmas festivities as they face a crucial BetVictor League clash against visitors Colne this afternoon.

The Mintcakes boss was left frustrated and disappointed after his side dominated Saturday’s game at high flying Prescot Cables with one of their best displays of the campaign only to be denied three points by a controversial late leveller.

A Sean Paterson goal had out them ahead but the visitors equalised in the last seconds following a corner which the Town players insisted should never have been awarded.

But Kendal have the chance to address their frustration in the best way possible against fellow strugglers Colne.

The East Lancashire outfit started the season well and were one game away from reaching the first round proper of the FA Cup only to lose at Gateshead in a fourth qualifying round tie.

But they have struggled since then, though they saw signs of a return to their best with a 1-0 home win over Droylsden on Saturday.

Town then face another crucial league clash on New Year’s Day when they travel to Widnes, who lie just one place above them in the table.
