An annual darts competition raised over £400 for charity while providing the stage for some very competitive matches.

The 2020 charity darts competition, which is held at the Rifleman’s Arms in Kendal every year, proved to be a competitive but friendly event.

The competition raised £404.50, with the proceeds being donated to St John's Hospice.

Tony Newell won The Tom Berry Memorial Shield after he defeated Steve Brewer 3-1 in the final.

The shield, which has been an annual event since 2013, is dedicated to Tom Berry, who was a friend and member of the Castle Inn Darts team before he sadly passed away in 2012 after a long illness.

The tournament to this date has raised over £4000 for St John's Hospice, with plans already in motion for the 2021 event.

St John’s Hospice is a local charity which provides free palliative care to patients with life shortening conditions in North Lancashire and South Lakes.
