Kendal Squash Club had an inconsistent 2019/20 league campaign, as all three of their teams suffered mixed results before the coronavirus pandemic suspended the Cumbria Squash League season.

The B Team, who play in League Two, had the better season after they finished fourth with one game left to play.

And in their last game they defeated Carlisle’s C Team 11-6, with both Jonathan Robinson and Olli Hayton picking up the main points for the team.

Robinson defeated Dugald Cunningham in straight sets winning 3-0 while Hayton won by the same score after he saw off Alex Cunningham.

And The B Team finished with eight wins and seven defeats, while their best run of results saw them win five out of six games between December and January. However, three straight defeats near the end of the season saw their hopes of finishing higher in the table come to an end.

It proved to be a difficult season for The C Team who finished second from bottom after winning just three games throughout the whole league season.

The C’s most productive run came back in February when they defeated both Whitehaven and Penrith Squash Clubs B Team before a run of three straight defeats saw them struggle.

And it proved to be a difficult season for the A Team who finished bottom of League 1 in a tough and competitive division.

The A Team had lost all of their games against tough opponents and had a few games left of the season before the league was suspended.
