KIRKBY Lonsdale Football Club are trying to generate funds after their North Lancashire League Division One season came to an abrupt end due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The club who were heading for a mid-table finish suffered a further blow.

Their long running secretary Barbara Chadwick sadly died following a long fight with cancer.

In addition, their annual six aside junior tournament was cancelled.

The tournament which was going to be held at the team’s Lunes Field Park ground would have generated some much needed funds.

However the club have raised £500 from a football card.

They have also created a Just Giving page on which they are trying to raise £1000.

Kirkby Lonsdale have also been trying to sell advertising boards for next season.

They are very grateful to FG Welch Central Heating and Gas Services Limited for their very kind donation.

As well as all the fund raising, Kirkby Lonsdale will be playing an under 16 team next season with the club looking for new players to get involved.

Kirkby Lonsdale on the pitch were into their first season in North Lancashire League Division One.

They continued their momentum from 2018/19 where they won their first ever league title.

They also made a cup final which was played at Kendal Town’s ground.

And aside from their on-pitch exploits, successful renovations were completed on the club’s changing room and shower facilities.

This was part of the club's efforts to continue to build and progress for the future.
