KENDAL Ladies Wasps finished third in the North East Woman’s League despite the early conclusion to the season.

And the team who are coached by James Mackereth, just missed out on the top two, despite some strong performances in what was a hugely competitive league.

Kendal did however finish their season on a winning note after Hayley Hodgsons five try haul eased the team to a dominating 46-22 win over Hartlepool Ladies.

The Wasps will have plenty to be pleased about as they look back on the season, in where they picked up wins home and away against tough opposition while their most successful spell came back in September after they went on an undefeated run of four games.

Notable wins at York and Halifax as well as emphatic home results over strong teams such as Novcastrians signalled the team’s intent.

There were however some defeats which set the team back.

However defeats were few and far between as the team were pleased with their season, as they look to push on for the 2020/21 season.

The club had further reason to be optimistic as their girls junior teams continued to show progress.
