KENDAL Rugby is extending its offer for new players to join them on the pitch.

All players of any experience level or age can join the club for its pre-season training.

Kendal Rugby Club is used to taking on fresh players with little time on the pitch, all the way to highly trained veterans with a wealth of experience.

In a statement, a club spokesman said: “Pre-season has started with a bang with a host of new players signing for the club and our highly rated Senior U18 Colts from last season joining the ranks of our senior squad.

“The attendance for male and female squads has been excellent and if you follow us on social media, you will see some great photos of training from our club photographer Paul Want.

“We field 19 teams altogether, including senior male teams, a senior women’s team and a Mini and Youth section which includes ‘Little Stingers’ and two girls age-group squads.

“We play touch rugby every Monday night on the 3G pitch from 7pm and field a Social and Vets team occasionally throughout the season.

“We also run a vibrant over 55’s Walking Rugby section that meets every Wednesday at 2pm.”

The club has on-site services from Kendal Physiotherapy & Sports Injury Clinic and Laura Martindale Injury Rehab & Sports Therapy. Club membership can access reduced rates on services.

For senior teams, training is held on Tuesday, and Thursday evening at 6.45pm, or email rugbydirector@kendalrugby.co.uk for details.
