KENDAL Town Football have welcomed applicants to come forward for the role as their new manager.

The position has been left vacant on two occasions over the last few months, with the departure of the most recent manager Gary Fawcett, and the sudden departure of 2019/20 manager Steve Edmondson.

Gary had to step down from the position after work commitments conflicted with his new post.

The club has received a wave of potential applicants stepping forward for the role, and the fans await their decision.

The absence of a manager has caused some administrative difficulties in the club, increased by the uncertainty around the Covid virus.

However, despite these setbacks the club bosses are confident they will be ready for the upcoming season with a new manager at the helm.

A Kendal Town spokesman said: “The committee has been blown away by the positive response of our recent advert for a new 1st Team Manager here at Kendal Town Football Club .

"22 applicants have now been shortlisted by the committee over the weekend.” The club will announce its decision at the end of the process.
