AS RUGBY takes a step closer to getting back onto the field Kendal's senior players are able to return to action.

The Kendal Auld Greys Walking Rugby will see the over 55s players play a modified version of the game as clubs around the country move from Stage B to Stage C in the 'return to play' plan laid out by the Rugby Union.

The game will be played under a set of different regulations that will assure safety and enjoyment around the current Covid restrictions.

There will be modicum amount of physical contact during the game. The idea was inspired to celebrate the sport taking another step closer to making its return to full play.

Stage C of the current roadmap plan will allow for larger groups to train together, and whilst social distancing remains in place it will not always be necessary. However, full on contact will not take place and interactions will be limited.

Held at Kendal Rugby Club, Wednesday afternoon sessions will be made up of drill practise and skill modified round robin matches. Taking place between 14:00 and 15:00, no experience is necessary and full training will be given to all participants from the outset.
